Virginia McIntyre LaunchesCampaign for Congress at Susan B. Anthony Square Park

Rochester, NY — March 31, 2026 — Virginia McIntyre has officially launched her campaign for Congress on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 10:00 AM on the grounds of the historic Susan B. Anthony Square Park in Rochester, New York, where a press conference was held.

McIntyre’s campaign launch introduces her candidacy and outlines her vision for leadership, accountability, and representation for the people of New York’s 25th Congressional District.

“Western New York deserves a representative who will fight for our communities, stand up for our values, and bring real leadership to Washington. This campaign is about putting people over politics and delivering results that matter to everyday families.”— Virginia McIntyre, Candidate for Congress, NY-25

The announcement at the Susan B. Anthony Square Park highlights McIntyre’s commitment to public service, civic engagement, and building a stronger future for the region. Supporters, community members, and members of the press are invited to attend.

ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

McIntyre brings a record of public service as a Monroe County Legislator, where she has worked alongside constituents from every background and party affiliation. In her campaign kickoff remarks, she draws on that experience to make the case for a new kind of leadership in Washington:“As your Monroe County Legislator, I’ve had the opportunity to meet people from every background and every walk of life — Republicans, Democrats, Independents, and people who are simply frustrated with politics altogether. And what I’ve heard, over and over again, is not partisan anger. It is a desire for something better. People want leaders who will work together. People want results. People want common sense.”

McIntyre is running on a platform of fiscal accountability, tax relief for working families and seniors, healthcare access, and restoring trust in government. She is critical of congressional dysfunction and its direct impact on working people:

“Time and again, we have seen Congress refuse to pass even routine spending measures — the bare minimum needed to keep our government functioning and ensure the men and women who serve it continue to receive their paychecks. And right now, federal employees are once again facing delayed pay and financial uncertainty — not because of anything they did wrong, but because Congress cannot do its job. That is not leadership. That is failure.”

Among McIntyre’s key policy commitments are ending federal income taxes on Social Security benefits, overtime pay, and tips; strengthening Medicare and Medicaid; supporting term limits and H.R. 208 — No Budget, No Pay Act; and banning influence peddling by federal elected officials and their families. She addressed government accountability directly in her remarks:“I also strongly support H.R. 208 — No Budget, No Pay Act. If our federal workers are struggling because Congress can’t agree on a budget, then Congress should share in that discomfort. I will not accept a paycheck for any period during which the government I serve has failed to function.”

McIntyre closed her announcement by calling on supporters across party lines to join her campaign: “If you believe leadership should be earned, not assumed — join me. If you believe service should come before politics — join me. If you believe we can do better, together — join me.”
