Dave proudly served in the United States Army, continuing a family tradition of service. After his honorable discharge, he earned a degree in Marketing with a minor in Accounting from the Rochester Business Institute, where he was selected to deliver the commencement speech.

For more than 25 years, Dave has served the Town of Gates through roles on the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals, and as Chairman of the Gates Republican Committee and Town Leader. He understands how government works—and where it’s failing the people it’s supposed to serve.

Now, Dave Ferris is running for the New York State Assembly with a clear mission: fix what’s broken and restore common sense to state government. Dave’s priorities include:

Dave will fight to reduce the tax burden on families, seniors, and small businesses. He supports cutting wasteful spending and putting money back in the pockets of hardworking New Yorkers.

As a small business owner, Dave knows firsthand how overregulation hurts local employers. He will push to eliminate unnecessary red tape, reduce fees, and create an environment where businesses can grow and create jobs.

Public Safety & Strong Communities
Dave supports law enforcement and believes every family deserves to feel safe. He will work to strengthen public safety laws, ensure police have the resources they need, and hold criminals accountable.

Dave believes Albany is out of touch. He will advocate for term limits, greater transparency, and stricter ethics rules to restore trust in government.

In 2023, Dave ran for Monroe County Legislator, continuing his long-standing commitment to public service. Now, he’s stepping up to bring real-world experience and independent leadership to Albany.

Dave lives in Gates with his wife Chan, their daughter Mariah, and their two dogs, Brooklyn and Dior. He remains active in the community as a board member of the Italian American Sports Club and the Italian Civic League.
