Statement from Chairman Peter Elder on RPD Officers Shot Last Night

Last night’s shooting of three Rochester Police officers is a disgraceful act of violence and a stark reminder of the dangers law enforcement officers face every day while protecting our community.

We are praying for the injured officers, their families, and their fellow officers. We stand firmly with the men and women of the Rochester Police Department who put their lives on the line to keep our neighborhoods safe.

Violence against police officers is unacceptable and must be met with real consequences. Our officers deserve unwavering support, strong public safety policies, and a justice system that stands with victims and law enforcement, not criminals.
